If it has no problem firing, you might double check the metering needle/seat, the condition of the metering spring and the position of the lever -most walbro levers are set flush with the carb body. You might try drying out the saw, plugging off the fuel line and seeing if the saw will pop/run on added fuel. Just be wary of seeing "good spark" and moving on. Either the 60 year old magnets in the flywheel are weak or the coil is weak, or maybe the condenser, I'm not sure yet. Damn saw fired up and ran like it was the easiest thing in the world. I used two layers of standard printer paper. Usually I use a business card to set the gap. I double checked the points and then narrowed the coil air gap. I narrowed the plug gap and it almost wanted to run. The thing would kinda pop, sometimes, but was never wanting to run, either on ether or mix squirted down its throat. Everything looked normal good, thick, bright blue spark, went through the carburetor a couple times, etc. Just had a similar issue with an old Mcculloch I'm reviving.
